Fall Schedule.

The forth of July Steam Sales just ended and I figured I’d go over the games I got.
Summer indie Action Pack (AaAaAA!!! - A Reckless Disregard for Gravity, Starscape, Zombie Driver, Metal Drift and Grid Runner Revolution.) - I mainly bought that for Gravity and Starscape, which are both fantastic games. I’ve played a bit of Zombie Driver and it’s mindless fun. Reminds me of the Java games you get on brand new computers.
Borderlands - My fraternity brother Josh got this one for me. I’ve enjoyed what I’ve played with him so far, but it seems mainly like fetch quests and go here kill person xyz. Doubt I’ll play this unless I’m with Josh though.
GTA IV - Was $5. Spent eight hours playing so far and I’m really enjoying it. The only major issue I have besides lackluster performance on my machine is the whole games for window’s live service. I’m fine with DRM if it provides me a service like steam does, but windows live just gets in the way, takes a long time to log in and is downright inconvenient. I’m already running steam, so an additional layer of DRM just seems excessive.
Red Faction Guerrilla - Only $5 and I’d heard good things about it. Haven’t played it yet. Comes with awful games for window’s live.
Introversion Complete Pack (Defcon, Uplink, Darwinia and Multidarwinia) - I played Defcon and Uplink a while ago and really enjoyed them. At $5 the pack was a steal. hopefully more people bought it so I can play Defcon with some friends.
NeoTokyo - On a Side note I re-downloaded my favorite half life mod. Community is a bit dead and usually I can only find people playing after five, but the game is still fantastic. I wish Steam would make it an official mod so more people would play.
Pumped for the Scott Pilgram movie.
Yesterday I resized my hard drive. Previously I ran Windows 7 Pro with 300gb and Fedora 12 with 120gb. With Fedora 13 coming out I figured I’d upgrade. I started with upgrading to Windows 7 Ultimate giving it 225 gigs and then started with Fedora 13 at the rest of my 500Gb hard drive.
Things I’ve learned from Fedora. Zero Day releases for graphics cards don’t happen. Ever. So with that in mind I gave up on F13 and decided to Try Ubuntu 10. So far it’s really clean and fast. I haven’t tried and development stuff yet but I’m going to soon. In a few months I’ll think about switching back to F13 after it’s stable. So far I’m happy though and I haven’t booted into windows once.
